Rosalind Main - Empowerment through arts

A young content creator from Edinburgh is a co-founder of the I Am More Than project, an online platform, and real-life platform.

Rosalind Main, a student, artist, and content creator from Edinburgh is one of the co-founders of her project that aims to bring down stereotypes and embrace diversity and inclusion for people around the UK.

The project came about in 2017, when Rosalind and another model, Morgan McTiernan, realised how unattainable beauty standards are in fashion industries.

This project became a campaign to bring to light more diversity as well as the unique features that people have.

Their social media page is all about speaking on diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry, as well as talks on body positivity.

They have hosted several photoshoots with girls of all kinds, shapes, and sizes to celebrate their beauty as well as bring awareness to the many types of people there are – all beautiful in their way.

Rosalind and Morgan both had amazing opportunities to speak on national television and radio about their movement and spread the word about their work.

Currently, Rosalind is based in Edinburgh while Morgan has moved away to Sidney in the USA to work for Canva but continue the project – this time worldwide.

When asked about what Rosalind finds most empowering about her, she said

She finds the continuity of learning and growing from what’s happening all around her to be the most empowering part of her journey as a person.

Rosalind has continued by mentioning her family and how she finds them very empowering, because of their support and care that they have given to her, with the same passion for creativity.

They have created a positive atmosphere for her, with the different ideas, mindsets, and accomplishments that everyone brings to the table. They are her inspiration.

She has done different courses in arts to enhance her creativity and understanding of the creative industry.

Rosalind has been modelling for years and her ways of learning through all of that make her very unique and empowering as an individual.

What she thinks makes others empowering in her eyes is confidence. Someone that people can look up to and admire.

Also, people who are self-aware and they are after their dreams and goals, working towards them.

When asked about how other women and girls can feel and be empowered, Rosalind said,
